WARRANTY POLICY

Stella Lighting Inc. Manufacturer Warranty Policy (Updated June 1, 2023)

  1. All Stella product warranties are only valid when product has been registered

    1. Registration service is available at: https://stellalighting.com/product-registration/

    2. Registration requires the serial number from the box and known place of purchase

  2. All Stella product warranties are for 2 years from date of purchase unless otherwise stated

    1. The StellaIQ comes with a 5 year warranty and adheres to the same warranty policy as listed here outside of the length of the warranty coverage

    2. This warranty applies to new products purchased from Stella Lighting or Stella Lighting authorized resellers

      1. A 25% restocking fee will be deducted from the refund if any of the original parts are missing, including the Stella shipping box

    3. Products purchased used, and/or from a third party, or non authorized reseller, are not covered by Stella Warranty

    4. Products purchased from the Stella Outlet store and marked “refurbished” are subject to separate warranty terms outlined in section 8

  3. Stella Warranties cover the following failure types

    1. Failure to function as advertised under normal operating condition

    2. LED performance more than 35% below advertised lumen output

    3. “Flickering” LEDs or failure of individual LEDs

  4. The warranty excludes the following

    1. Failure due to improper handling or operation on the part of the buyer

    2. Products dismantled or modified without written approval from Stella Lighting or products used in conjunction with parts not provided by Stella Lighting, including but not limited to power cords or power adapter not provided by Stella Lighting

    3. Products operated or stored in ambient temperatures outside the approved range of -25C to 45C

    4. Products repaired or altered by persons not authorized by Stella Lighting

    5. Acts of God or other Force Majeure

    6. Remote battery failure or failure of any other replaceable consumable parts

  5. Verification of Failure

    1. Warranty coverage is subject to verification of the failure by Stella Lighting by visiting https://stellalighting.com/rma/

    2. Verification must be performed at a Stella Lighting warehouse location

  6. Stella Lighting Liability under the Limited Warranty

    1. If failure occurs within 30 days of purchase date, Stella Lighting will pay for shipment of the product to a Stella Lighting warehouse for verification

    2. For failures outside of 30 days from date of purchase the buyer is responsible for shipment of the product to a Stella Lighting warehouse for verification and will need to provide proof of delivery if requested

    3. When verification has taken place Stella Lighting will provide coverage for the product

      1. In cases where the product can be repaired and returned to the buyer in good working condition, Stella Lighting will repair and return the product

      2. In cases where the product cannot be restored to reasonable working condition Stella Lighting will provide the buyer with a new product of the same model or closest equivalent if that model is no longer available

      3. Instead of repair or a new product, customers may request and be granted a full refund if within 30 days of purchase

    4. In all cases of repair or replacement covered under warranty Stella will cover return shipment of the product to the buyer

  7. Repair of product not covered under warranty

    1. In order to ensure lifetime viability of the product, Stella Lighting provides low cost repair services for products outside of warranty coverage

    2. For non warranty repairs, the buyer is responsible for shipping the failed product to Stella Lighting for evaluation

      1. If there is no issue with the lamp as it was sent back because of user error, the user will need to pay the $75 repair fee before it leaves the Stella warehouse. This fee covers evaluation and shipping

    3. If after evaluation there is an issue with the lamp, Stella will offer to fix the lamp back to fully functioning capacity for $75 including shipping. If the lamp cannot be fixed, Stella will send the user a new lamp for the same $75 including shipping

      1. Please note that these fees are inclusive of the contiguous 48. The repair program is offered for Alaska, Hawaii and other countries but will have additional shipping charges 

  8. Refurbished Product Warranty

    1. Stella products purchased directly from the Stella Outlet Store or marked as “refurbished” are covered under the Refurbished Product Warranty

    2. Refurbished products are covered for 2 years from date of purchase

    3. Refurbished products must be registered to receive warranty coverage as described in section 1

    4. For refurbished product, the buyer is always required to ship the product to a Stella Lighting for verification before warranty coverage will be provided

    5. When verification has taken place Stella Lighting will provide coverage for the product

      1. In cases where the product can be repaired and returned to the buyer in good working condition, Stella Lighting will repair and return the product

      2. In cases where the product cannot be restored to reasonable working condition Stella Lighting will provide the buyer with another refurbished product of the same model or closest equivalent if a refurbished version of that model is not available

    6. In all cases of repair or replacement covered under Refurbished Product Warranty, Stella will cover return shipment of the product to the buyer

    7. For failures not covered under warranty, refurbished product buyers can take advantage of the same low cost repair options as new product purchasers as described in section 7

 

 

Authorized Reseller Policy-Addendum

All RMA requests should be submitted by the product user as directed in Section 5 above by visiting https://stellalighting.com/rma


In the event an authorized reseller of Stella Lighting products prefers to handle the RMA request directly with the product user outside of the policy described above, the following procedure must be followed in order to properly validate the warranty:

  1. Authorized reseller evaluates and resolves the RMA directly with the product user 

  2. Once completed, the reseller requests an RMA # directly with Stella Lighting by emailing rma@stellalighting.com

  3. Stella will issue an RMA # 

  4. Reseller shall be responsible for returning the product back to Stella Lighting at reseller’s expense.  Please note Manufacturer Warranty Policy 2.a.i 

  5. Once Stella receives the lamp, a detailed evaluation will be performed in order to validate the warranty within 7 business days. Once completed, Stella will provide a summary report of its findings to the reseller

  6. In the event the warranty is found valid, Stella will issue a credit memo to the authorized reseller  

  7. NOTE: Credit will not be given for a product that is functioning properly and was deemed user error  

    1. In the event the product is deemed fully functional, the product will be returned to the reseller at the sellers expense
